The Shorts London Team have recently installed one of our GA20 Inclined Platform Lift for Straight Staircases, in London’s popular Science Museum on behalf of ThyssenKrupp Elevator UK Ltd.
The brief was to remove the existing and outdated disabled access lift and replace with a more modern and reliable device from our comprehensive Impaired Mobility range. Due to the popularity and opening times of the museum all works were done Out of Hours for the minimum of disruption and completed in just 2 nights.
Located at the Discovery Motion Theatre, the new platform lift provides wheelchair access to the Legends of Apollo exhibition. Based on the Apollo lunar landings of the late 1960s and early 1970s, this exhibition’s exceptional 3D computer animation will fly you to the moon, where you can experience the sights and sounds of an Apollo expedition.
