All Lift Spare Part warranty claims must be made in writing to Shorts. Any goods returned as faulty within the warranty period will be inspected and tested by Shorts or by the original manufacturer. Should the part be found to have a manufacturing fault, a replacement part will be despatched by Shorts. Should the part be found to have been damaged due to improper use or care or found to be not faulty, then it will be returned to the Purchaser and the Purchaser will be invoiced for the cost of testing.
If a warranty claim is made and the Purchaser requires an immediate replacement part, then a Purchase Order will be required. A replacement part will be despatched by Shorts and an invoice issued. Following testing of the faulty part, should the part be found to have a manufacturing fault, a credit note will be raised against the invoice. Should the part be found to have been damaged due to improper use or care or found to have no fault, then it will be returned to the Purchaser and the Purchaser will be invoiced for the cost of testing.
This warranty shall only apply if, where applicable, the Lift Spare Parts have been serviced by a competent person.
