The high efficiency of the ECD planetary gearbox ( >90% ) means a smaller motor and drive can be utilised,
which in turn means lower starting and running currents. This is good news for the environment and
building owners alike. Any budding eco warriors should take a look at the comparative figures below!

Like the proverbial super mop the ECD range of winding units is small and compact which makes the ECD the
ideal choice for refurbishments. The ECD is lighter and easier to handle than equivalent units and will fit
through the smallest of lift machine room access hatches without splitting the unit down.
The ECD winding unit is filled with oil for its’ operational life, combine this with a wear free running time
in excess of twenty thousand hours and the incredibly low backlash of the planetary gears and you have a low
maintenance winding unit that will run and run.
Or more accurately the drive of your choice! The ECD can be coupled with the Alpha range of inverter drives
for unrivalled ride quality. However the ECD is also tried and tested with third party inverter drives from
manufacturers such as Ziehl Abbeg, Control Techniques, KEB and many others. This ensures that the ECD can be
easily integrated by your preferred controller manufacturer.
