Shorts Complete A3 Solution
In accordance with EN81-1/2:1998 + A3:2009 and EN81-21 as of January 2012 all new lifts must be equipped with a safety device to stop unintended car movement away from the landing with the landing door not in the locked position and the car door not in the closed position, commonly referred to as Unintended Car Movement (UCM).
It also follows that passengers should be afforded the same degree of safety when using an existing lift as when using a new lift, making a strong case for the refurbishment of existing lifts to be carried out in accordance with the new standard (Amendment 3) wherever “reasonable and practicable”.
Our complete system is certified by one TUV certificate which covers all the component parts when used together, this means that the complete solution is guaranteed to comply with the requirements of the A3 amendment without the need for further testing.
We can also supply you with individually certified A3 Components for inclusion in your own solution which must then be tested as a complete system by an appropriate body.
